DIO Board with External Connections Fails Resource Test Hardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed>>AT-DIO-32HS
Problem: I have a PCI-DIO-32HS high-speed digital I/O board that is connected through a terminal block to various signals that are sourced from another external device. When I disconnect the terminal block (and thus disconnect the signals), the board will pass the resource test in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). However, when I reconnect my terminal block and run the test, it tells me that the device is not responding to the base address. Solution: When you press the "Test Resources" button, MAX tells you that it is going to read and write from some of the digital lines to perform the test. If you click "Yes," it will run the test. If it is not able to read or write any one of those lines, it will fail the test, saying "The device is not responding to the selected base address." In order for it to pass the test, the board must be able to write to the digital lines, so any external connections you have made to the DIO board must not be writing anything to the data lines.
