Secondary Addressing Problems in Measure 2.0 Primary Software: Other NI Software>>MeasurePrimary Software Version: 2.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have a device that assigns itself and other devices a primary address (default 1) and secondary addresses. This instrument assigned 1,96 to itself and 1,97 to another instrument. I can access both of these with normal GPIB calls in the Interactive Control. However, in Excel using Measure I cannot access either instrument. By running NI-SPY I can see that when I specify in Measure the address "1,96" the call is made to the address "1,97" instead, and when I call "1,97" the call goes to "1,98" and I get a no listener error. It seems that the secondary addressing in Measure is off by one. I've also noticed that the addresses appear to decrement in NI-SPY whenever multiple instrument calls are made. What is the cause of this? Solution: These problems are fixed in the modified GPIB.XLA file attached to this KnowledgeBase entry. Please download this file and replace the GPIB.XLA file in your Measure folder with this one. This update will only work for Measure 2.0 users. Related Links: Measure Support Attachments:
