Why is ph_exec.exe Not Found When Installing Software on Real-Time Target?

Primary Software:
Primary Software Version: 2009 SP1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
When I try to install software on my Real-Time target I get an error message saying  File ph_exec.exe is missing or corrupt or  The specified file was not found ph_exec.exe.  What do I do?

Note:ph_exec.exe may be replaced by ph_exec_smp.exe

Solution:
This file is sometimes quarantined by anti-virus software.  Without this crucial file, LabVIEW cannot add or remove software from a Real-Time target.

To resolve this issue, set your anti-virus software to trust files in the \Program Files\National Instruments\RT Images\Base folder; then you will need to repair the installation of your Real-Time Module.

This message also displays on the boot up screen of Phar Lap PXI targets when there is no software installed.  To resolve this problem, follow the steps in KnowledgeBase 2HEEPEZ8: Installing Software on your Real-Time (RT) PXI Controller.  Once software has been installed to the target, this message should no longer display.
