Using NMT Messages with the CANopen LabVIEW Library Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-CANPrimary Software Version: 2.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Can I use NMT messages in the CANopen LabVIEW Library? If so, how and are there any examples? Solution: Yes, NMT messaging is supported with the CANopen LabVIEW Library. The NMT messaging works by mapping to a single CAN frame with a data length of 2 bytes, with an identifier of 0. The first byte contains the command specifier and the second contains the Node-ID of the device that must perform the command (in the case of Node-ID 0 all nodes must perform the command). The NMT message transmitted by the NMT master forces the nodes to transit to another NMT state. For more information, refer to the CANopen LabVIEW Library Help linked below in the Related Links section. Once the help file is open, type "NMT" in the Search tab to get further details. An example VI that can be run in LabVIEW version 7.1 and later is attached below. Related Links: Product Reference: CANopen LabVIEW Library Help 1.0 Attachments:
