PCI-MXI-2 shows up under Win95 Device Manager as a PCI bridge Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-VXI/VISAPrimary Software Version: 2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI
Problem: If you install the PCI-MXI-2 before installing NI-VXI for Windows95, Win95 may think the PCI-MXI-2 is a PCI bridge. The driver needs to be installed before the board for detection to work properly. Make sure you remove this before installing NI-VXI for Win95. If you install NI-VXI for Windows 3.x under Win95, then you need to leave the PCI-MXI as a PCI bridge under Other Devices. This is OK. If you had NI-VXI for Win95 installed, then you remove it and install NI-VXI for Win3.x, then the Device Manager shows the PCI-MXI under VXI Interfaces but the device manager shows a yellow exclamation. The Device Status says, "System Failure: Try changing the driver...." This is because the nivxi.inf file was not removed when the uninstaller ran. So, Win95 will find the PCI-MXI-2 but can't figure out why the driver doesn't work. Regardless, NI-VXI will work fine. Solution: Remove the PCI bridge reference from the device manager. Install the NI-VXI driver. Restart the computer. Related Links: Attachments:
