Saving a Static IP Address on the TPC-2106, TPC-2106T, or TPC-2012

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>LabVIEW PDA Module
Primary Software Version: 2009
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I am trying to set a static IP address on my Windows CE TPC, but it resets every time I reboot the device. How can I prevent this?

Solution:
When the TPC boots, it loads the registry from the embedded flash drive. To prevent excessive writes to the flash media, the registry is not automatically saved when changes are made. Instead, the changes are simply stored in memory. Since the IP address is stored in the registry of the TPC, the registry must be saved to flash to preserve the setting between boots:
  1. On the TPC, select Start » Run and enter regsave.
  2. Click OK.
  3. A pop up window will confirm the registry is saved. The TPC can now be booted with the saved settings.
