GPIB-1284CT Fails IBDIAG on Windows 98 Machine

Hardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-1284CT

Problem: I have installed a GPIB-1284CT and it fails IBDIAG, but passes IBTEST on my Windows 98 machine.

Solution: Sometimes the GPIB-1284CT will fail IBDIAG and give errors such as:
The GPIB-1284CT failed test 556 at step 2.

Error - Cannot generate DRQ across ACK line EPP Nibble mode
Spurious interrupt or expected interrupt not received.

The GPIB-1284CT failed test 557 at step 31.

Error - Cannot transition Daisy Chain control to exit
Test Pattern Error.
test failed on read to register: status reg (379)
Expected 78 received b0

The GPIB-1284CT failed test 559 at step 113.

Error - Cannot select ECP through Daisy Chain commands
Test Pattern Error.
test failed on read to register: status reg (379)
Expected e8 received b8
At the same time your software passes IBTEST indicating that it is installed correctly. In this situation, try using the Interactive Control (IBIC, or possibly WIBIC) to communicate with your instrument. The GPIB-1284CT might fail IBDIAG, but it is still functional. See the related link (below) on how to use GPIB commands in IBIC to communicate with your instrument.
