Long Delay Before Execution when I Run My VI from the Project Explorer Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Professional Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Why does my VI take much longer before execution begins when running a VI loaded from the LabVIEW project than when run after opening it from outside of a project? Solution: This problem occurs when you are attempting to run a VI that you opened from the LabVIEW Project Explorer. When you open a VI from the LabVIEW Getting Started Window, or from opening it directly from Windows Explorer, the VI begins executing shortly after the run button is clicked. In LabVIEW, a VI's dependencies are checked at run time, or when you manually refresh dependencies from the project explorer. In LabVIEW 8.0 and 8.2 the dependency check that is done at run time was done inefficiently when the VI was run from the project. In order to prevent this delay from occurring, you can make sure that the dependencies are checked before you run your VI. You can do this by refreshing your dependencies in the project when you load it, by right-clicking on the Dependencies line in the Project Explorer and selecting Refresh. This problem was fixed in LabVIEW 8.5. Related Links: KnowledgeBase 44JF4TSN: Long Delay When Loading a SubVI Attachments:
