Why does my Real-Time Target Hang on Reboot After Installing NI Vision Development Module 8.6?Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Real-Time ModulePrimary Software Version: 8.6 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Vision Development Module
Problem: I upgraded to version 8.6 of the NI Vision Development Module and installed it onto my Real-Time target, but the controller did not start properly after reboot. Why does my target hang? Solution: The hang on boot is a known issue. This occurs when the system is formatted for 8.5, but you attempt to install version 8.6 of the NI Vision Development Module. For PXI, simply upgrade to the most recent BIOS, as described in KB 2GIGKD0Z: Determining and Upgrading PXI and VXI Embedded Controller BIOS Versions. For ETS Desktops and other Real-Time targets, use the Desktop PC Utility USB Drive to format the target for Real-Time 8.6. This utility is available in Measurement & Automation Explorer through Tools»RT Disk Utilities»Desktop PC Utility USB Drive.
