How Do I Configure LabVIEW DSP to Generate Sound on the TI DSK6713 target?

Problem: I am using the TI DSK6713 with LabVIEW DSP to generate sound on the analog output channel. However, when I run the VI I hear glitches in my audio stream. What can I do to correct this behavior?

Solution: Since live front panel updates momentarily halt the DSP on the DSK6713 target to read the memory, you may hear brief glitches in your audio output because the processor cannot keep up with the real time streaming data. In order to return the processor to real time, you can select the Disconnect Front Panel checkbox in the LabVIEW DSP Module Status Monitor window after running the VI. This will disconnect all front panel indicators. Thus, the DSP no longer needs to be halted to read the DSP memory, and the audio signal should return to normal.
