Synchronization Restrictions in an 18 Slot PXI Chassis Using SignalExpress Primary Software: LabVIEW Signal Express>>Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am trying to synchronize two PXI boards in a 18 slot PXI Chassis when using the SignalExpress, but am not able to do so. Solution: The 18 Slot PXI Chassis (PXI-1045 and PXI-1006) have three PCI segments. Each segment has its own set of eight (8) PXI Trigger Lines, that by default are not connected across the segments. In order to synchronize two or more PXI cards when using SignalExpress, the modules must be placed in the same segment.
Refer to the KnowledgeBase entry linked below for more information. Update: The above mentioned restriction only applies to SignalExpress Versions 2.5.1 and older. From SignalExpress 3.0 onwards, this limitation does not exist and users can share triggers across buses Related Links: KnowledgeBase 32GFMIWD: PXI-1045 and PXI-1006 Trigger and Synchronization Facts Attachments:
