How to Archive a Citadel Database in Measurement & Automation Explorer
Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 6.0.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Utility Software>>Citadel ODBC Driver
Problem: I have used the Citadel database to log a lot of data. How can I back up this data in case something happens to my database?
Solution: To backup Citadel data you need to create an archive, which means creating a new Citadel database where the data to be copied is inserted. To archive a Citadel database complete the following steps:
- Open Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
- Under the Historical Data item in the Configuration tree in MAX, click on Citadel 5 Universe to show a list of Citadel databases in the center pane.
- Expand the Universe tree and select the database you want to archive.
- Right-click the database and select Archive, then click Next.
- Select your destination database. You can use an existing database by selecting one from the Universe tree in the Select your destination database pane of the Archive Data dialog box, or create a new one by clicking the Create/Attach Database... button.
- If you opted to Create/Attach a database, specify the path to the new database and click OK.
- Specify the Start Time and End Time to archive. You can select destructive archiving by checking the Destroy source data after it has been archived (local computer only) check-box.
- Click Finish.
