PCMCIA-CAN Compatibility With 16-bit PCMCIA Interfaces

Hardware: Industrial Communications>>DeviceNet>>PCMCIA-CAN (DNET), Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN Series 2, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN/2, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN/2 Series 2, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN/DS, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN/LS, Industrial Communications>>CAN>>PCMCIA-CAN/LS2

Problem:
Can a PCMCIA-CAN card be used in a 16-bit PCMCIA interface, or is a 32-bit interface required?

Solution:
National Instruments PCMCIA-CAN cards are 16-bit PC Cards, and can be used in 16-bit slots as long as the slot is properly recognized in Windows.

Some PCI PCMCIA interfaces do not provide all the functionality of a standard PCMCIA slot. The links in the Related Links section below contain more information about PC Card (16-bit) and CardBus (32-bit) interfaces.
