Problem: Can a PCMCIA-CAN card be used in a 16-bit PCMCIA interface, or is a 32-bit interface required? Solution: National Instruments PCMCIA-CAN cards are 16-bit PC Cards, and can be used in 16-bit slots as long as the slot is properly recognized in Windows. Some PCI PCMCIA interfaces do not provide all the functionality of a standard PCMCIA slot. The links in the Related Links section below contain more information about PC Card (16-bit) and CardBus (32-bit) interfaces. Related Links: What Is PCMCIA; What Is CardBus?
