Problem: Can my USB M Series device interface with an SCC chassis and modules? Solution: USB DAQ devices are available in 4 versions: Screw Terminal, BNC, Mass Termination and OEM. The version of the USB DAQ device, represents the type of connecter it uses and mass termination means that all the signals flow through a single connector so there are no screw terminals. For NI SCC chassis compatibility, a USB M Series device must be the mass termination version of the device and a SH68-68 cable is needed to connect to the SCC chassis. Both the externally powered, and bus powered USB devices with mass termination can be used with the NI SCC products. The following USB M Series devices are available with mass termination connectors and can be used with NI SCC products:
Note: USB Mass Termination DAQ devices are not compatible with SCXI chassis. The SCXI 1600 must be used to communicate with SCXI with USB.
