Under What Conditions Will My MID-7604/02 Motor Drive be Inhibited?

Hardware: Motion Control>>Power Drives

Problem: What conditions will inhibit my MID-7604/02 motor drive?

Solution: Your MID-7604/02 motor drive is inhibited if one of the four following conditions occur:
  1. The ENABLE switch is in the off position.
  2. The host computer is shut down or the motion controller cable is disconnected, which activates the host bus interlock circuitry on the drive.
  3. The motion controller inhibit signal is low.
  4. The per-axis inhibit input signal (from the back panel) is actively driven.
*Note: The polarity of the input inhibit signal can be set from the front panel DIP switches. It is active low by default. In this state the drive will only be inhibited when the terminal is specifically grounded. If the input is set to be active high the drive will be inhibited by a 5V high signal OR when the terminal is disconnected and floating.
When your motor drive is inhibited the connected motor will be de-energized and will be allowed to turn freely. Additionally, the front panel LEDs will illuminate yellow.
