Error 3005 Occurred at DB Tools Open Connec (String).vi.

Problem:
I have been trying to run the example program Connection Example.vi found in the NI Example Finder, but I keep getting the error message Error 3005 Occurred at DB Tools open Connec (String).vi

Solution:
It states in the error message that a possible reason is Object specified is not creatable in DB Tools Open Connec (String).vi. In order to fix this problem, we must go into DB Tools Open Connec String.vi and correctly specify the ActiveX object from the creatable objects list.

1. Open a blank VI and place DB Tools Open Connec (Path).vi on the Block Diagram.
2. Double-click DB Tools Open Connec (Path).vi and go to the Block Diagram.
3. Open the SubVI entitled DB Tools Open Connec (String).vi and navigate to the Block Diagram.
4. Find the ActiveX Refnum which should be wired into the Automation Refnum input terminal of the Automation Open subVI.
5. Right click on the ActiveX Refnum and choose Select ActiveX Class»Browse.
6. From the Type Library drop down menu select Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library Version 2.8.
7. Enable Show Creatable Objects Only.
8. Select Connection (ADODB.Connection.2.8).
9. Click OK and then save the VI.
