The 3rd and 4th Nelson Rules in the CVI SPC Toolkit do not Behave as DocumentedPrimary Software: LabWindows/CVI Add-ons>>Statistical Process Control ToolkitPrimary Software Version: 1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 1.1 Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: The 3rd and 4th Nelson Rules in the LabWindows™/CVI SPC toolkit fail to flag the data as violating the rules. What should I do to fix this? Solution: The fact that the 3rd (six or more data points in a row are increasing or decreasing) and the 4th (fourteen or more data points are in alternating directions) fail to flag some data as out of control is known and documented. To fix this you will need to replace your current SPC source code with an updated version. The source for the SPC toolkit is included in the same folder that contains the SPC instrument, under CVI\spc\spc.c. Please contact support to obtain an updated version of the spc.c file. Once you obtain the file, to use it, backup the existing spc.c file under CVI\spc and copy the provided file to that directory. Then, in a project with the SPC instrument loaded, go to Instrument»Edit, select the Statistical Process Control from the list and click Attach and Edit Source. This should compile the new source for use in your project. Related Links: Product Manuals: LabWindows/CVI SPC Toolkit Reference Manual Attachments:
