Measurement Studio DAQ Project Templates Generating Untrusted Component ErrorsPrimary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQPrimary Software Version: 8.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: 8.3 Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I installed DAQ 8.x or later with .NET 1.1 and 2.0 support. After installation, when I create a new project in Visual Studio, I see the option to create an NI-DAQmx Windows Application under Measurement Studio project types. When I select the Measurement Studio DAQmx Windows Application project, Visual Studio throws the following error: Error: this template attempted to load an untrusted component 'NationalInstruments.MeasurementStudio.Wizard, version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,Publickey Token = XXXX'. For more information on this problem and how to enable this template, please see documentation on Customizing Project Template. How do I fix this? I do not have Measurement Studio installed on my machine.Solution: This custom project template will work only if you have Measurement Studio support for Visual Studio 2005 or Measurement Studio Support for Visual Studio .NET 2003 installed on the machine. There is a bug in the NI-DAQmx install where it installs components which should only be installed with Measurement Studio in cases where Measurement Studio is not present on the system. This bug becomes visible if you enable .NET support in the install by selecting "Install this feature and its subfeatures to a local drive" instead of "Install this feature to a local drive." Refer to the screenshot below. To remove the project template, run the NI-DAQmx installer through Add/Remove programs in the Control panel, select DAQ from the product list, and click Modify without changing any features in the install feature tree.
