No Traffic On the CAN Bus When Using the PCMCIA-CANHardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers
Problem: I am using the PCMCIA-CAN card. When I open the bus monitor in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), it shows that there is no traffic and I don't receive any of my data. Why is this? Solution: The most common cause of this problem is that the ports on some of the PCMCIA-CAN interfaces require external power. If your interface requires external power, it will have a sticker on the screw terminal that has "Bus Pwr." written on it. Connect the V+ terminal to an 8V to 27V voltage supply, and you should be able to see the traffic on the CAN bus.
