Are the NI Fieldbus Hardware and Software Compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows Me? Hardware:
Problem: The NI catalog says the Fieldbus driver and Configurator software are compatible with Windows NT and Windows 9x, but Windows 2000 and Windows Me are not listed. Have they been tested and are they compatible? Solution: Windows Me: Windows Me has been tested with both the AT and PCMCIA interface boards, and they are both compatible (NI Fieldbus versions 2.3.5 and 2.3.6). Windows 2000: NI Fieldbus version 2.3.5 only supports the AT-FBUS interface under Windows 2000. The Win2000Issues.rtf file (located in the "nifbus" directory) illustrates how to install the AT-FBUS interface card under the Windows 2000 platform. The PCMCIA-FBUS card is NOT supported under Windows 2000 in this version (2.3.5). In order to use the software under Windows 2000, the "MFC42.dll" file must be in the same folder as the Configurator; otherwise display problems may be experienced. From NI Fieldbus versions 2.3.6 and later, NI Fieldbus hardware and software are totally compatible with Windows 2000. Both the AT-FBUS and PCMCIA-FBUS interface cards are supported under Windows 2000.
