Voltage Loss Through AWG Wire

Problem:
What is the voltage loss through AWG wire?

Solution:
Voltage loss is a function of the current, cable length, and cable resistance.

Voltage Drop:

Drop = I x r x L

Where:
I  = current (Amps),
r  = resistance/foot of cable,
L = cable length (ft)

r is dependent on the wire gauge as shown in the table below:
