Problem: Now that I have upgraded to LabVIEW 8.6, can I use a National Instruments Volume License Manager (NI VLM) or FLEXnet to manage my Remote Panels licensing? Solution: When using Remote Panels with LabVIEW 8.5 and earlier, neither NI VLM nor FLEXnet could not be used due to the licensing implementation. This implementation has been changed for LabVIEW Remote Panels 8.6 as well as future versions and now can be managed with NI VLM or FLEXnet. However, the normal pattern of backwards compatibility does not hold for Remote Panels. Therefore, if you have LabVIEW 8.6 on an NI VLM or FLEXnet license, you cannot check out LabVIEW Remote Panels 8.5 and older from the same license. All previous versions of Remote Panels need to continue to be activated as a single-seat license.
