Read the Value of Output Channels on FieldPoint Output Modules

Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules>>cFP-AO-210

Problem:

In my LabVIEW application I am writing some values out on my analog output lines of my FieldPoint module. How do I programmatically determine the current output signal being written to my FieldPoint module.

Solution:

To read the current value of an output channel you can use the FP Read VI.  The steps below demonstrate how this can be achieved. 
  1. Place a FieldPoint I/O point on the Block Diagram of your VI
  2. Browse for the output channel in the I/O point by clicking on the drop-down box and clicking Browse
  3. Place a FP Read.vi in your VI
  4. Wire the FieldPoint I/O point to the FP Read.vi
Following these steps will allow for you to read the output values in your application. The image below shows the code to read analog output channel 0 from a cFP-AO-200.
