Problem: What's new in NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394?
Solution: The following are the features and fixes that were implemented in the NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Driver:
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 2.0.2 added the following new features/fixes:
- Support for automatic Bayer color decoding with no additional programming
- Support for multiple host computers to acquire images from a single camera, thus effectively distributing computations
- Support for thermal imaging with IEEE 1394 FLIR ThermoVision cameras
- Uses advanced instruction sets to decode YUV to RGB
- Faster and more accurate than NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras 1.5
- Updated LabVIEW support to improve ease-of-use with property nodes
- Enhanced thread-scheduling between device drivers
- Enhanced version of IIDC 1.30 that supports IEEE 1394b-2002 compliant transfer, new video modes, and new camera features
- Enhanced Windows support to provide greater stability and performance
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 2.0.1 added the following new features/fixes:
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 2.0 added the following new features/fixes:
- Support for IIDC 1.31 cameras
- In-line Bayer decoding
- Optimized YUV decompression
- Broadcasting - One camera can send images to multiple hosts simultaneously
- Low level buffer management
- Support for P4 hyperthreading machines
- Improved LabVIEW integration - Property nodes for camera attributes
- Camera enumeration function
- Camera plug/unplug events
- .NET support
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 1.5.3 added the following new features/fixes:
- Updates the LabVIEW RT DLLs in order to repair a bug which would occasionally set reserved bits when setting camera features under LabVIEW RT - This could cause undefined behavior in some cameras
- Support for the PXI-8184 RT controller
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 1.5.1 added the following new features/fixes:
- Removed memory leaks associated with opening and closing sessions on LabVIEW Real-Time
- Fixed the initialization problems experienced with some cameras on LabVIEW Real-Time
- Fixed distorted image data associated with 16-bit cameras where pixel data is bit-shifted or byte-swapped
- If you are acquiring from MAX, you must deselect the camera in MAX before acquiring in LabVIEW - Deselecting the camera implicitly closes the MAX session, you are no longer required to close MAX
NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 1.5 added the following new features/fixes:
- Support for LabVIEW Real-Time (RT)
- Updated support for digital cameras
- Improved Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) integration
The following features in NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 were added to the driver in version 1.1:
- Support for Microsoft Windows XP
- Support for Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3
- Better allocation of bandwidth for multiple cameras on one 1394 board
- Better camera identification. The serial number of the camera is displayed in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)
- Microsoft Visual Basic shipping examples
- Ability to change the driver from third party drivers to NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 in MAX - You can also switch back to third party drivers easily in MAX
- Improved Format 7 support
- Other enhancements
