How Do I Create and Run a Simple Hypertend Object?

Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 6.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I am looking into using HyperTrends in Lookout, but I cannot even get a simple Pot to show a line on the graph. How do I make this work.

Solution: There are two things that you must have before HyperTrends will work: Source - which can be anything that produces a graphable number, and Data Member - which should have logging enabled. This document will walk through the steps of creating a working HyperTrend object using a 'Pot' object as the data source.

  1. Create a Pot Object - Object>>Create..>>Pot - Press OK through all of the boxes.

  2. Edit Data Member Configuration - Right-Click Pot1 in Object Explorer and select "Edit Data Member Configurations...". Choose Value, make sure that Logging is enabled, and press save.

  3. Create HyperTrend Object - Object>>Create...>>HyperTrend - URL = Pot1.Value

You should now see a red line plotting on the HyperTrend Object. Press CRTL-SPACE to enter 'Run Mode'. Changing the Pot should reflect on the graph.
