Resetting the FP-1601 Module's IP Address

Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation Explorer
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Driver Software>>FieldPoint Explorer
Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-1601

Problem:
How do I reset the FP-1601 module's IP address?

Solution:
Follow these instructions to reset the IP address:
  1. Power down the FP-1601.
  2. Move the RESET DIP switch on the front of the module to the ON position, as shown in the following illustration.

  3. Power up the FP-1601 and wait for the red STATUS LED to start flashing once repetitively, indicating reset mode.  Flashing any other number of times indicates an error.  Please consult the user manual on pages 59-60.
  4. Move the RESET switch back to the OFF position.
  5. Cycle the FP-1601's power.
  6. Open Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) by going to Start » All Programs » National Instruments » Measurement and Automation.
  7. Expand Remote Systems.
  8. If MAX was already open, refresh it by going to View » Refresh or by pressing F5.
  9. You should now see your FP-1601 that the IP address, subnet mask, DNS address, gateway, and Time Server IP are set to 0.0.0.0.

Make sure you click on Apply once you have entered the new information in MAX.
