Can I Control Each Analog Output Channel on My NI-4551 Independently?Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DSAPrimary Software Version: 1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am using an NI-4551 Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA) device for an analog output application. Can I generate two independent waveforms, one on each analog output channel? Solution: On NI-DSA version 1.11, the "source" function calls for configuring and generating analog output waveforms do not have an input parameter for channel number. When you configure the source one type of output, this actually generates an analog pattern on both channels. The two patterns are identical except that Channel 1 is always 180 degrees out of phase with Channel 0. Alternately, you could think of the output waveform on channel 0 as being equal to channel 1 multiplied by a scalar value of -1. The DSA hardware is capable of generating independent waveforms on each channel. However, you must use the board in NI-DAQ mode in order to control the two channels individually. Instead of using NI-DSA VIs or API calls, you would program the board as an MIO device using LabVIEW analog output VIs or functions. Related Links: Attachments:
