Why do the Relays on my SC-206x Close When I Shut Down my Computer?Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>E Series, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2060, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2061, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2062
Problem: I am using an E Series DAQ board with the SC-206x, and when my computer is turned off, the relays are open; however, during the shutdown process they are closed. How can I keep my relays in the same position during shutdown and when the computer is off? Solution: The default state of the digital lines on the E Series boards during shutdown as well as during startup is HIGH. This means that, although the default state of the electromechanical relays on the SC-206x are open, they will close while the computer is being shutdown. If it is necessary for the relays to stay open while shutting down, you will need to wire in a pull-down resistor because of the default high power-up state of the digital lines on the E Series board. You can find specific instructions on completing this by reading KnowledgeBase 266KK6YF: Can I Use a Pull-down Resistor to Set the Default State of the Digital Lines on my NI DAQ Device?
