Do the NI Modular Instrument IVI Drivers use State Caching?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DMM, Driver Software>>NI-FGEN, Driver Software>>NI-HSDIO, Driver Software>>NI-SCOPE, Driver Software>>NI-SWITCH

Problem: The NI modular Instrument drivers are IVI compliant, but does that also mean that they use state caching to store configurations?

Solution: State caching allows the instrument driver to keep track of current instrument settings to avoid sending redundant commands to the instrument, significantly increasing execution speed. Below is a list of the modular instrument drivers that support state caching and the function call used to control this property:

Note: state caching is enabled by default
Instrument Driver Function
NI-SCOPE niScope Initialize With Options
NI-FGEN niFgen Initialize With Options
NI-DMM niDMM Initialize With Options
NI-SWITCH niSwitch Initialize With Options
NI-RFSG niRFSG Initialize With Options
