How Do I Encrypt A Top-Level SuperBlock In SystemBuild?

Primary Software: MATRIXx
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I would like to distribute my SystemBuild model without exposing the source diagram. How can encrypt this model so that it can still be used in simulations?

Solution: You can encrypt your top-level SuperBlock only after you've built that block into a component. The steps to do so are as follows:

1. In the Catalog Browser, highlight the model that you wish to encrypt.
2. Choose Tools>>Make Component
3. Leave the defaults and choose Finish
4. Highlight the newly created component and choose File>>Save As
5. Change the SuperBlocks radio button in the upper right hand corner of the dialog to "Selected" instead of "All"
6. Name and save the file
7. From the operating system command line, run the encrypt command on the newly created file. To run the encrypt command from the command line (Windows), enter the following:

cd "c:\Program Files\National Instruments\MATRIXx\mx_71.4\sysbld\bin"
encrypt "name of your component (with full path)" "encrypted file name (with full path)"

**Note: You may need to modify the path slightly based on your version number or installation path**

For information on how to use the encrypted component, see the related links.
