NI 9802 Directory Full Error Hardware: CompactRIO
Problem: When writing to an SD card on a NI 9802 module I receive a Directory Full Error even when I have not use up all 255 file id Maximum as listed in the manual. Why do I receive a directory full error? Solution: The most likely cause of this is that the files in the SD card directory have lower case filenames. Lower case filenames will use Long File Name entries, and require using more than one entry per file. To free up file entrys, the filename must be uppercase and must comply with the DOS 8.3 naming convention. The file ID can be any unsigned integer value from 0 to 255 and appears as an 8-bit hexadecimal value in the filename. The name of the file is in the format CRIO-X##.BIN, where ## is the hexadecimal representation of the value you entered. Related Links: Attachments:
