Why Do MATRIXx Not Load The Startup File That I Have Created? Primary Software: MATRIXxPrimary Software Version: 7.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have created a Startup.ms file to set some paths and aliases at Xmath startup, but when I check for those aliases or paths after it has finished loading, those do not exist. What am I doing wrong? Solution: What happens is that MATRIXx will check in some defined paths for this file. If the file is not in these folders, then it assumes it doesn't exist and will continue loading the default settings. According to the help for the Startup.ms MATRIXx will look for the file in: 1.-$XMATH_STARTUP/startup.ms 2.-$HOME/xmath/startup.ms 3.-./startup.ms If you want to use the third option, but you don't know what your working directory is, go to Xmath and type show directory. Also in Windows you can right-click the shortcut you use to launch Xmath and choose Properties. In the Properties dialog you can set the working directory. Just save the Startup.ms file in that directory and Xmath will load it next time you open it.Related Links: Attachments:
