Connecting Wires to a cRIO or cDAQ Module Spring Terminal Connector

Hardware: CompactDAQ>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9205

Problem:
I have a new CompactRIO or CompactDAQ module with a spring terminal connector instead of the screw terminal connector I was expecting.  What is the correct way to connect my wires to the spring terminal connector?

Solution:

The new spring terminal connectors (pictured left) have four rows across and can be found on the following modules: 9219, 9206, 9375, 9214, 9264, and the 9205.

The rows on the outside are circular, and the ones in the middle are square. To attatch a wire, push a small screwdriver into the square hole next to the round hole you wish to use, and slide the wire into the round hole. Release the screwdriver from the square hole and the wire will be locked in place.

Please, refer to the image below to see how the piece should move.

The tool used must be thin enough to push the small metal piece inside the socket toward the circular wire terminal.  This displacement causes the circular wire terminal to open and allow the insertion of wires.  Do not force the metal piece down. It can bend down and make it unusable. Make sure that the tool slides in between the wall of the socket and the small metal piece.

These terminal connectors are compatible with 28 - 18 AWG wire (0.5 - 1.0 mm).
