Why Can't I Install the Windows SDK from the Developer's Suite DVDs?

Problem:


When I previously installed LabWindows/CVI from the Developer's Suite CDs, I had the option to install the Windows SDK.  However, when I try to install LabWindows/CVI from the Developer's Suite DVDs, I no longer have the option to install the Windows SDK.  How can I install the Windows SDK using the Developer's Suite DVDs?



Solution:


Rather than choose to install the LabWindows/CVI Development System as a default installation, opt for a custom installation.

When the Developer's Suite installer is ready to install the LabWindows/CVI Development System, it will prompt you for the DVD that houses the LabWindows/CVI installer and will run that installer in turn.  When the LabWindows/CVI specific installer runs, it will give you the option to customize the installation, thereby allowing you to add the Windows SDK to your installation.
