Why Isn't the CompactRIO Controller Status Light Lit During Boot-up? Hardware: CompactRIO>>Controllers>>cRIO-9002
Problem: While my CompactRIO (cRIO) Controller boots, the Status light does not light up and the controller takes several minutes to boot up. I have looked in the manual, and it indicates that the Status LED should turn on for a period of time during boot-up. The controller is brand new, and it seems unlikely to have a hardware error. Is there anything else that I can check? Solution: Under normal operation, a cRIO controller runs a power-on self test (POST) when powering on. During POST, the Power, Status, and User LEDs turn on. When POST is complete the User and Status LEDs turn off. In some situations, the Status LED may not Light up during boot-up and cause the cRIO boot time to be slow. This may be due to a corrupt CompactFlash on the cRIO controller. If this situation occurs, attempt to reformat the controller as explained by KB 3C2EKCFL linked below. If after reformatting the cRIO controller you still experience the dead Status LED and slow booting, please contact National Instruments Technical Support.
