Database Variant to Data VI Causes prim.cpp Error or Cannot be Placed on the Block Diagram

Problem:
I am facing one of two problems:
  1. When I look at the Context Help for the Database Variant to Data VI in LabVIEW, all I see are question marks and I cannot seem to place the VI on the Block Diagram.
  2. When I try to place the Database Variant to Data VI from the Database palette onto the Block Diagram, I get the following error: Internal Error: "prim.cpp", line 5348 (or line 859 in LabVIEW 8.5).


Solution:
This is an issue with the database dir.mnu file.  This file determines the LabVIEW Database palette view.  To solve this issue, download the attached dir.mnu file and replace the file in the following directory:

<LabVIEW>\vi.lib\addons\database
