Triggering An Acquisition Session of a HSDIO Device

Hardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed>>PCI-6552

Problem:
I have configured my HSDIO acquisition session to have a digital start trigger. However, I am receiving a timeout error because it is not seeing the trigger. Why?

Solution:
A HSDIO acquisition session trigger must meet the setup and hold time requirements listed in the Acquisition Signal Characteristics section of the device specifications. Below is an image of two triggers. The first does not meet the setup and hold time requirements and would not start the acquisition. The second trigger meets the minimum setup and hold time requirements and would trigger the acquisition. The acquisition of data will begin on the same clock cycle in which the asserted start trigger meets the minimum setup and hold time requirements.

Generation session start trigger behaves differently, and will start the generation as long as the minimum pulse width is met. The minimum setup and hold time requirements do not apply for generation start triggers.
