Opening VS.NET 2003 Examples in VS.NET 2002

Primary Software: Measurement Studio>>.NET Support
Primary Software Version: 7.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I'm trying to use shipping examples that were created in VS.NET 2003 but I'm using VS.NET 2002.
Can I still use the VS.NET 2003 examples? Are there examples specifically for VS.NET 2002?

Solution: There are several utilities on-line that allow you to down-convert VS.NET 2003 files to VS.NET 2002 files and vice-versa. One utility can be found at The Code Project, linked below.

Unfortunately National Instruments .NET libraries will not work with VS.NET 2002. This is because VS.NET 2002 targets the .NET 1.0 framework where as all of National Instruments .NET libraries (DAQmx, GPIB, VISA) will only work with the .NET 1.1 framework. The two frameworks are not compatible with each other although they can exist side by side (you can have both of them installed on the same machine without any problems).

Visit The Codeproject Project and search for "Convert VS.NET 2003 Project Files"
