Registration Message When Launching Multisim 9
Primary Software: Electronics Workbench>>Multisim
Primary Software Version: 9.x
Primary Software Fixed Version: 9.x
Secondary Software: Electronics Workbench>>Ultiboard
Problem: I tried to launch Multisim 9 or Ultiboard 9 and I get a message saying "This product is not registered on the license server". What can I do to fix this?
Solution: In order to fix this problem, please follow these suggestions:
- Make sure that you have used the same product serial number on both the client and the server. If they do not match then you should change the one that is incorrect. If the wrong serial number is on the Network License Server, then right-click on the serial number and select "Edit Serial Number", then type the correct one and click OK. If the wrong serial number is on the Multisim or Ultiboard application, then you need to modify the settings file; browse to "<root>\Program Files\Electronics Workbench\EWB9\settings" and look for the "Multisim.ini" or "Ultiboard.ini" file, open it with Notepad and change the serial number section, save and restart Multisim or Ultiboard.
- Make sure that the Release Code has been accepted by the license server. No client application will be licensed until the product has been successfully registered. If the Release Code is not accepted please contact Electronics Workbench to review it.
- In some cases you might see that the Network License Server, at any of the listed Products that have been registered as a Network license, the text "0 of 0 seats in use" appears just after the Product Name. This would mean that the Release Code entered was incorrect, please contact Electronics Workbench to review it. This section should reflect the number of seats your license is valid for, i.e. if you purchase a 25 seat license, you should see "0 of 25 seats in use" when you first install the software and enter a valid Release Code.
