Archived: Why is "Do Not Allow License Request" Grayed Out?

This document has been archived and is no longer updated by National Instruments

Primary Software: NI Volume License Manager
Primary Software Version: 2.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I am trying to disallow my computer from requesting permissions from our VLM server for a toolkit or software because I have a limited number of licenses, but the Do Not Allow License Request option in NI License Manager is grayed out. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Solution:
The feature to force NI License Manager to not request permissions through the Do Not Allow License Request option is only available in Concurrent Licenses.

Unmanaged Concurrent: If you have an unmanaged concurrent network license, this option should never be grayed out.

Managed Concurrent: If you have a managed concurrent license, and the Do Not Allow License Request option is grayed out, it is because you have not been given permissions for this software anyway. If you are using managed concurrent licenses, you must have permission assigned on the network license server to use this feature.

If you have a Non-Concurrent license, you will not be able to use this feature.
Also, this feature only works on products shipped in August 2008 or later, such as LabVIEW 8.6, that use concurrent licenses.
