Are IVI Drivers Supported on Non-Windows Operating Systems?Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers
Problem: I am using LabVIEW and a GPIB device on a non-Windows operating system to communicate with a programmable instrument. I found an IVI Specific Instrument Driver for my instrument on the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network. Are IVI Drivers compatible with non-Windows operating systems? Solution: Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI) Drivers are only supported for use on Windows operating systems. If you are running a non-Windows operating system on your computer you may be able to use an IVI Driver to communicate with your instrument with modifications. See the Using IVI Specific Instrument Drivers in Linux knowledge base article for more details. You also may be able to use a Plug and Play Instrument Driver if NI-VISA is available for the operating system you are using. Refer to the NI-VISA driver download page, found in the Related Links Section, for a current list of NI-VISA versions available for different operating systems. For more information on Plug and Play Instrument Drivers or to search for an instrument driver for your particular instrument, visit the Instrument Driver Network.
