Why Do I Get Errors When I Try to Run a Distribution of a CVI Program which Uses the SQL Toolkit?

Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Add-ons>>Enterprise Connectivity Toolset
Primary Software Version: 1.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I created a CVI program using the SQL toolkit. My program runs on the development machine, but I get an error when I create a distribution and try to run it on a target machine. One possible error is "Error loading database dll". What should I do to fix that?

Solution: The following files must be distributed with an executable or DLL that uses SQL Toolkit instrument driver functions. All of these files need to be placed into the Windows system directory.

- IVCD.LIC --> ODBC driver license file
- cvidb32.dll --> sql toolkit dll
- cviauto.dll --> ActiveX automation dll

In order to distribute applications which use the SQL toolkit you must also distribute files on which the CVI toolkit depends. Version 2.0.6 of the toolkit provides an installer which can be run by the distribution in order to copy and configure these files automatically. For previous versions of the toolkit you can add these files to your distribution manually. For instructions and licensing information on distributing applications with the toolkit, refer to the "readme.txt" file (for toolkit versions lower than 2.0.6) or to the "Distribution-readme.txt" file (for version 2.0.6 or later). These files are included with the SQL toolkit. The "Distribution-readme.txt" for version 2.0.6 of the toolkit is attached to this document.
