How Do I Connect a Compumotor E-AC Drive to the 7334/44 and UMI?

Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7334

Problem: I have a Compumotor E-AC series drive connected to my UMI, but there is no response when I try to make a motor move. Why is this, and what can I do to correct it?

Solution: When connecting the step and direction pulses on the 25 pin connector of the drive, you will need to include a pull-up resistor on each line as follows:
  1. Connect the Step output of the UMI to Pin 1 of the 25 pin connector.
    Connect a 1k ohm resistor from the 5V terminal of the UMI to the Step output terminal of the UMI.

  2. Connect the Step output of the UMI to Pin 1 of the 25 pin connector.
    Connect a 1k ohm resistor from the 5V terminal of the UMI to the Direction output terminal of the UMI.

  3. Connect the UMI GND output to the Step (-) pin 14 and Direction (-) pin 15 of the 25 pin connector.
