Why Does LabVIEW Ask Me to Insert a Disk That I Used to Open a VI Every Time I Open LabVIEW?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Professional Development System
Primary Software Version: 1.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Calibration Executive

Problem:
I had a set of VIs that were given to me by a third party company. I opened the VIs from the disk using LabVIEW 8.5.1 and viewed them once. Now every time I open LabVIEW I get the message that I need to insert the disk. How can I get this behavior to stop?

Solution:
LabVIEW keeps a history of the most recent VIs that you loaded. When you open LabVIEW it uses the LabVIEW.ini file to load this history and check file locations. Because the file location for the disk is invalid it asks you to insert the disk.

You can correct this by moving the LabVIEW.ini file to a new location. LabVIEW will then recreate the .ini file the next time it loads. The LabVIEW.ini file is stored in the <LabVIEW> folder.
