How Do I Configure the Switches for CJC Sensor Input on the SCB-68?

Hardware:

Problem:
How do I configure the switches for CJC sensor input on the SCB-68?

Solution:
The setting of the switches depends on if you are taking measurements in differential or single-ended mode.
  • For single-ended operation, connect referenced single-ended analog channel 0 to the temperature sensor by switching S5 to the up position. The signal is referenced to AIGND.
  • For differential operation, connect differential analog channel 0 to the temperature sensor by switching S5 and S4 to the up position.
The switch settings described above, along with figures, can be found in the SCB-68 68-Pin Shielded Desktop Connector Block User Manual, in the Using the SCB-68 with MIO DAQ Devices section.

Once you have the switch settings correct, all other channels except analog input channel 0 (and 8, if you are using differential mode) can be used for thermocouple measurements. See the KnowledgeBases linked below for more information on making thermocouple measurements with the SCB-68.
