Unexpected Voltage Signal Detected on SC-2345 Chassis Hardware: SCC>>Carriers>>SC-2345
Problem: Why am I measuring an unexpected voltage signal on my SC-2345 chassis? Solution: The SC-2345 chassis is connected to the power line ground of its power supply. The power line ground is a safety precaution used to provide a low resistance path for a current that does not follow its normal path. If there is a fault in the power system, this line could carry a current. Because this reference is often shared by multiple elements in a power network, a current could be detected on this line resulting from a problem elsewhere in the system. If there is a signal on this ground it will propagate to the SC-2345 chassis and anything connected to it such as the ground connection of a shielded cable. You should fix the power supply to solve the problem. Related Links: Product Manuals: SC-2345 User Manual (see Table B-4) KnowledgeBase 2MQE698V: Grounding Terms and Symbols Attachments:
