Why Is the "Switching" Tab Grayed Out on My NI-DMM/Switch Express VI? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DMMPrimary Software Version: 2.6 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System
Problem: I am trying to use the NI-DMM/Switch Express VI but the Switching tab is grayed out. I have NI-Switch modules installed so why can't I configure them with this VI? Solution: This Express VI is only intended to be used with switches that have MUX topologies. If you have a switch installed that is capable of both matrix and MUX topologies, you will notice that only the MUX topologies are selectable in this tab. The Switching tab will be completely grayed out if your system has only matrix switches or simulated switch devices. Additionally the Switching tab will also be greyed out if there are no DMM Devices configured on the system as shown in the image below:
