What Does the Measurement Studio 6.0 CD Install?

Problem: I would like to know what NI software and versions are installed with the Measurement Studio 6.0 CD.
Solution: Measurement Studio does not install NI-DAQ and NI-488.2, unlike the LabVIEW 6i installer. Here is a list of NI software that gets installed with Measurement Studio 6.0:
- MAX 2.1.3.15
- IVI Engine 1.83 and other IVI-compliant drivers
- VISA 2.5.2
- NI-PAL 1.4.2f0 (needed by VISA)
- LabWindows/CVI 6.0
- Measurement Studio for Visual Basic
- Measurement Studio for Visual C++
Here are some things to keep in mind if you install Measurement Studio 6.0:
- Measurement Studio 6.0 installs LabWindows/CVI 6.0. However you can have both LabWindows/CVI 5.5 and LabWindows/CVI 6.0 on the same machine. If you have LabWindows/CVI 5.5 and want to keep it, make sure you specify a directory different from the LabWindows/CVI 5.5 directory when installing Measurement Studio 6.0. This is the only way to keep both versions of LabWindows/CVI.
- Make sure you remove the old version of Measurement Studio (known as ComponentWorks) before installing Measurement Studio 6.0. When you are uninstalling the old version, make sure you select yes when asked if you want to "Remove All Shared Components." Otherwise the Measurement Studio 6.0 installer will fail because it will detect Measurement Studio 1.0.1 components still installed on your machine.
- All the Visual C++ projects that used the old Measurement Studio controls will be automatically upgraded to the new controls when opened in Visual C++ environment. Also, Visual Basic controls will be automatically upgraded. Please be aware that the control properties might be changed to default values when upgraded.
