Distributing Applications with Sound and Vibration 6.0Primary Software: Sound and Vibration Measurement SuitePrimary Software Version: 6.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Are there any requirements for distributing LabVIEW applications that use VIs from the Sound and Vibration Toolkit or Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite? Solution: To begin, you are required to purchase an NI Sound and Vibration Analysis S/W Run-Time Deployment License for each target machine that will run applications built with LabVIEW and the Sound and Vibration Toolkit (SVT) or the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite (SVMS). These licenses are transferrable between versions of SVT and SVMS so you are not required to purchase new licenses each time you upgrade your Sound and Vibration software. Once you have the license then you will need to install the appropriate run-time software to the target machine before you can run the distribution executable. Each target machine may need all of the following software components depending on the functionality that is used by your application.
Note: The easiest way to distribute your executable is to use the LabVIEW Application Builder to make an installer. You can select which run-time components you need to support your application (see screenshot below) and you will not need to download and manually install the individual components. 1. LabVIEW Run-Time Engine - This is always required when running executables built with the LabVIEW Application Builder. Each target machine will need this software component. 2. Sound and Vibration 6.0 Run-Time Engine - This run-time engine is required for any applications built with the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite. This run-time engine is not required for applications built with the Sound and Vibration Toolkit. 3. NI-DAQ Driver Software - If your application uses NI Data Acquisition Hardware, then your target machine must also have the same (or later) version of the same driver software. For example if the development machine uses DAQmx 8.6, then the target machine must also have DAQmx 8.6 or later. 4. UFF58 Data Plugin - This component is required for any SVT or SVMS application that uses the UFF58 File I/O features. If you are not using these features then this software component does not need to be installed on the target machine. 5. USI Components - This component is also required for any SVT or SVMS application that uses the UFF58 File I/O features. This component may or may not need to be manually installed depending on how the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine was installed on the target machine. All USI components are bundled with the LabVIEW Run-Time Installer provided on the web. If you installed the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine from the web, then no further action is required. If you are installing the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine from an installer built with the LabVIEW Application Builder, then make sure you select NI USI from Additional Installers. Again if your application does not use the UFF58 features, then this software component does not need to be installed on the target machine. Related Links: Attachments:
