Why Are Test Panels Greyed Out for My PXI/PCI-7030 and Daughterboard? Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Real-Time>>PCI-7030/6030E
Problem: If I right-click on my PXI/PCI-7030 or its daughterboard in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), the "Test Panels" and "Test Resources" buttons are greyed out. Why is this? Solution: The processor board is not a data acquisition (DAQ) device, so it does not have Test Panels. Furthermore, you cannot test the resouces or run the test panels for the DAQ daughterboard because even though the daughterboard is configured using the host PC, the daughterboard is actually located on the local PCI bus of the RT Series board. Only LabVIEW Real-Time applications targeted to the 7030 can access the DAQ daughterboard. For this reason the resource configuration on the PCI bus cannot be tested from the host PC. You do not need to test the resource configuration because National Instruments configures it and it does not change.
